We are a non-profit development arm of the United Methodist Church, registered under the laws of Liberia to function as a legal Non-Government Organization of the Liberia Annual Conference, The United Methodist Church.
The Liberia United Methodist Development Services (LUMDS) was established in 2008 as Department of Community Services (DCS), under the United Methodist Church
In 2019, LUMDS became a full Non-Governmental Organization with a mandate to operate as an autonomous entity with an overall goal of serving the needs of Liberians
The Organization has managed several programs, some of which are currently ongoing to include Community Development Program (CODEVPRO; 2008-2024), Community Integrated Development and Need-Based Education Program (CIDNEP; 2010-2021), Giving Hope to A Child (GTHAC; 2010- ), the Child Sponsorship Program (CRP2012; 2012-), Hannah’s Well (2022), Safe and Improved Learning in Schools (SAILS; 2025-) and Community TB Notification (NFM3 HIV/TB; 2021-2023). Safe and Improved Learning in Schools (SAILS; 2025- ) and Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior (GEMS; 2025- ). LUMDS has made interventions over the years in Liberia with a high record of accountable management.

The Liberia United Methodist Development Services sets out to make practical the Missions of the Church to provide concrete, holistic, sustained and comprehensive development for God’s people irrespective of religion, nationality, sex, color or creed all across the length and breadth of Liberia in all basic areas of human development.
The goal of the organization is to provide comprehensive and sustainable social services to Liberians irrespective of religion, tribe, color, sex or creed.
